ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Jessica Damouni (She/Her) is an Australian/American actress and filmmaker of Lebanese/Palestinian descent currently based in LA. She moved from Perth, Australia to New York where she studied acting at The Lee Strasberg Institute and improv comedy at The Upright Citizen’s Brigade. She has since continued her training at various studios in both NY and LA.

As a teacher and coach, Jessica's focus is on encouraging actors to let go of the "rules" that hold us back from following our creative instinct. Once we have a strong understanding of the text (story, relationships, place, inner life), her goal is to help students color between the lines, play, be bold in their choices and bring their innate uniqueness to a scene.

TV/Film credits include God Friended Me (CBS), Crashing (HBO), Platonic (Apple TV+), Choke (Outfest LA), Salam (Tribeca Film Festival, the Oscar Qualifying film Like Salt, Inspector Ike (Best Feature NOLA Film Festival) and An Arrangement. She recently originated the lead role of Khady in Kareem Fahmy's play American Fast at Artists Rep in Portland.

She has performed improv and sketch comedy at festivals and stages around the country and has appeared in commercials for brands such as Lexus, Geico, Adidas, Rocket Mortgage, Fisher Price and more. The film she wrote, directed and acted in, Be Good, premiered at the Oscar Qualifying Urbanworld Film Festival.
